The start of a New Year is a great time for self-reflection, new resolutions and becoming the best version of ourselves. It might seem like new goals are only worth pursuing if they are life-changing, but what often has a real impact is the smaller habits, easier to implement in our daily routine and keep in the long run. We wanted to share a few of these little habits that can have a significant impact in your day-to-day life.
Here are a few #TeamkTips to start your New Year off right…
1. DO A SELF REVIEW
Take a moment to acknowledge all the things that happened this year. Ask yourself what went well and what you’d like to improve in the future. What were your biggest accomplishments? Your biggest challenges? What lessons have you learned? What are the things you are really grateful for? What habits did you successfully implement in your daily life to be your best happy self?
2. SET NEW REASONABLE GOALS
This is the perfect time to set some new goals for yourself. To put all the chances on your side and set yourself for success, be clear and precise when visualizing your future-self: your goals need to be specific, achievable and realistic. It's the best way to stay motivated and enjoy the process as much as the ''result''.
3. BALANCE PAIN & GAIN
As we mentioned above, the process should be as enjoyable as the outcome. It's not about punishing ourselves with endless days filled with work, workouts and unrealistic tasks or diets. Be nice to yourself and make sure to save plenty of time dedicated to doing the things/people you love most. It can also be as easy as making a playlist of your favourite good-mood songs to get that extra boost when doing your workout.
4. COMMIT TO A MORNING ROUTINE
It takes 30 days to create a new habit. One that could really change your life is the way your start each day: hydration, skincare, deep breathing, meditation, short workout... By setting up your alarm a little bit earlier you will be able to take time for yourself and focus on your physical and mental well-being before jumping into your busy life.
5. CHALLENGE YOURSELF WITH SOMETHING NEW
It can be anything, from learning a new language to planning this road trip you've been dreaming about for years.
6. FIND YOUR TRIBE
You may know a friend who resolved to commit on working out in the New Year. Continue or begin your fitness journey together. It will increase your chances for success and you'll have more fun.
There will be times when you don't feel like working out and a partner can be just the motivation you need to keep on going.
